Athletes in the Vernon area have many sports to choose from. We have programs for children, youth and adults, at all levels of ability.

To join:

  • read about our Programs and decide which sports you want to join. You can join as many as you wish.
  • complete a Special Olympics BC Registration Form and a Special Olympics Vernon Registration Form
  • bring your forms to the annual Registration Night, or contact the Registrar

All athletes must complete a Special Olympics BC Registration Form and a Special Olympics Vernon Registration Form. You can never start a sport without these.

Athletes must:

  • observe and abide by the Special Olympics Sports Rules
  • treat everyone with respect and dignity
  • remember that coaches are there to help you, accept their decision and show them respect
  • contact your Head Coach if you will be missing a practice
  • follow the rules and play in the spirit of the game
  • not wear jeans or jewellery to practices, games or tournaments

But most of all . . . try your best and have fun!

Please note:
Each registered athlete who requires personal assistance one-to-one or one-to-two ratio must be accompanied by a caregiver/someone able to assist in the care of this athlete. Our sport volunteers are unable to provide this service.

  • Registration is $5 per athlete
  • Some sports cost extra
  • If you can't pay for a sport Ask the Registrar for help
